RCB’s family plight continues: Loss to the Punjab King sets unwanted IPL record | Cricket News

Royal Challenger Bengaluru (RCB) started the IPL 2025 campaign in a sensational way, beating the Kolkata Cavaliers in the Opening of the Championship in Eden. They beat Chennai Super Kings for the first time in 17 years and their victory continued with their impressive appearance after a decade of drought. They also had a compelling victory with the Rajasthan Royals in Jaipur.
But while RCB is unstoppable on the road, they have been trying to find their foothold at home. The team played three games at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru and lost all the games against the Gujarat Titans, the Delhi capital and, most recently, the King of the Kingdom of Punjab.
In the latest defeat to the Punjab Kings in Game 34 of the match, RCB won the unfortunate difference. This loss marked their 46th failure at their home court, creating unnecessary IPL records. Therefore, RCB now loses on one venue than any other franchise in IPL history, surpassing the Delhi capital, where they suffer 45 losses at their own home venues.
Despite this flaw, the RCB remains in a considerable position in the dot table. With 4 wins and 3 losses in 7 games, they are currently ranked fourth. Meanwhile, the Punjab Kings has a high table, ranking second on the table, with only 5 wins and only 2 losses.
As the game progresses, if RCB wants to get the top spot in the playoffs, it needs to solve its own home disaster. Regaining dominance at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, once considered a fortress, is crucial for their search for a teenage IPL title.
