Regena Cassandrra reacts to Kesari’s box office failure: “This will affect Akshay Kumar”

Regena Casandra reflects on her box office performance in her last Hindi release, Kesari Chapter 2, who clarifies that as an actor, she is worried about fully proving her role.

Actress Regena Cassandrra reacts to Akshay Kumar’s Kesari Chapter 2 box office failure. Talented outsiders are busy in 2025, juggling between the North and the South, leaving their mark even in hero-centric films. This year, in the first five months, she has three main versions: Vidaamuyarchi of Ajith Kumar, Jaat of Sunny Deol and Kesari Chapter 2.

After her praise for playing Badass Bharathi in Jaat and Badass Bharathi in Kesari 2, Regena has an exclusive conversation with DNA India about her views on the fate of Kesari 2 at the box office. For the unproven, Kesari Chapter 2 received extremely positive comments from critics and audiences. However, the applause did not translate into footprints. Therefore, the film made only Rs 88.4 crore in the country in 27 days. With Karan Johar’s backing, Kesari 2 surpassed the trademark of Rs 100 crore worldwide, but it’s still not in previous Kumar’s films, or even its prequel Kesari (2019).

Asking Regna about the tedious results of Kesari 2 on the box office, she said: “Honestly, when it comes to box office, especially in movies where I play such a role, it doesn’t directly affect me. It does affect people who are making the movie. It affects Akshay Kumar because Kesari 2, because it’s his thing, it’s his idea, it’s impossible. Regena further confirmed that before talking to us, she got a very special reaction about Kesari 2 from her friends, saying she was crying throughout the movie because it moved her. She asserted: “A lot of people say the words about Kesari 2, adding, “Besides the box office, this movie is very relevant to people and they’ve accepted it.”

Even Sunny Deol of Jaat in Randeep Hooda, there was no expectation. Speaking of the same thing, she said: “Honestly, when it comes to Jaat, I stay away from numbers, trackers, etc. I just like to do my job.”
