Relatives accused of locking out death, seeking action

Hyderabad: The family of a 35-year-old Autorickshaw driver claimed on Wednesday that he died after police attacks at the Rajendra Nagar Police Station. The victim Mohd Irfan is related to a complaint filed by his wife. Police denied the claim and said Irfan died of a heart attack.

Police said Irfan’s wife complained to police about his alleged extramarital affair with one of her cousins who are investigating the complaint. Sadiq, the brother of the deceased, said in a conversation with the Deccan Chronicle that Irfan initially tried to seek compromise with his wife. However, her family chose to contact the police.

Sadik claimed that when they went to the police station, officer Sajid Khan defeated Irfan. “We are not allowed to stay inside the police station. When we tried to peek through the window, we saw Sajid hit his elbow on his back. They noticed we were able to see the behavior, they pulled the curtains. We could hear his screams.”

Sadiq claims that after the alleged attack, police asked Irfan to go out and talk to his family about compromise. Within five minutes, he collapsed. “He was healthy, very healthy, suddenly collapsed. We found out that he was urinating in his pants and was constantly vomiting. We immediately took him to a private hospital. They refused to acknowledge him and asked us to transfer him to Osmania hospital.”

Md Imran, another brother of the deceased, told Deccan Chronicle that Irfan was declared dead in OGH. “They told us that his heart broke out due to the brutal attack from the police.”

According to the OGH Resident Medical Officer (RMO), Irfan was pronounced dead at 11.12 p.m. “His brother Mohammed Sadiq took him to the hospital around 11.05 pm and reported a 30-minute non-responsive window before arrival. Clinical notes showed that there was no carotid artery or femoral pulse. Three CPRs were performed. No heart sound was performed. No heart sound was performed.

Imran claimed that when the incident occurred, the police station had four officers, two of them women. “Secretary Sajid has been absconding ever since. We were asked to file a complaint, but the police did not allow us to take any photos of the copy of the complaint. They also did not share FIR or any details with us. We even asked CCTV footage of the room where he was beaten, but denied our brother. “We sought justice for the brother. ”

According to Rajendranagar inspector K. Kastro, these claims are false, and Irfan’s death is the result of a heart attack. Police claimed: “The deceased’s wife reached out to us and we consulted the couple. After this, we advised them to maintain further contact. However, on the return, he collapsed and became subconscious. When he was handed over to OGH, he was declared dead by the doctor.”
