Reopening in the border areas of Rajasthan; power outages will continue in three areas

Markets in the border area of ​​Rajasthan have reopened and people have walked out of their homes after people announced a ceasefire between India and Pakistan on Saturday evening (May 10, 2025). The government has lifted overnight power outages in some areas, but it will continue in Jodpur, Bikana and Hanumangal.

Alarms along the international borders in western Rajasthan will also remain in effect as a precautionary measure. The areas mainly affected by hostilities between the two countries are Barmer, Jodhpur, Phalodi, Jaisalmer, Bikaner and Sriganganagar. As safety-related directives were withdrawn, the cheerful people came out on the street and brought up slogans.

Earlier in the day, fragments of suspicious drones were found at different locations in the Barmer and Jaisalmer areas after multiple border attacks at night. The Wehrmacht successfully foiled the attack and neutralized the drone’s air.

Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma held a full party meeting in his office in Jaipur before announcing the ceasefire and introduced the conflict with Pakistan, the preparations of the state government to delegates from different political parties. Congressional MLA and opposition leader Tika Ram Jully was present.

Mr Sharma has taken preventive measures in the border areas in recent days, including the release of revolving funds to support rapid response efforts. He said there were strict vigils in power plants, refineries, markets, transportation centers, tourist attractions and places of religious significance.
