Reservoirs prepared in Osmannagar

Hyderabad: Two reservoirs built in Osmannagar in Patancheru constituency are ready to provide clean drinking water for colonies, gated communities and villages. These reservoirs are part of the ORR Phase 2 project collected by HMWS&SB. They built for Rs 30 crore and are expected to benefit about 10,000 people. So far, 22 kilometers of water pipes and 55 bulk connections have been laid.
Board of Directors MD Ashok Reddy visited the site on Tuesday to inspect the final work. He said the two reservoirs (one of 4 million liters, one of the other) will provide the Tellapur municipality. The construction and pipeline work has been completed and the trial operation has been successful.
These reservoirs are made into model projects thanks to the use of new technologies and solar energy. The smart valve is installed on the pipe and can be operated using a mobile application. This means that the on-site staff does not have to manually open or close the valve. The smart system can also check water quality, quantity and chlorine levels. The entire setup runs on solar power and has a backup battery to avoid power issues.
A water audit is underway to track all water sent from the reservoir. Flow meter is used to match readings from the reservoir to the end consumer. This will help identify and stop wasting. Officials also set up an online system that will alert if chlorine levels drop.
Ashok Reddy indicates that solar lights used for lighting around the reservoir and Borewell water use drip irrigation. He also asked officials to beautify the area and place signs, provide project details, display water-saving messages on the compound wall, and then place CCTV cameras.
