Retired DG and IGP find death in his residence in Bangalore

Bengaluru: Retired Director General (DG) and police officer Om Prakash (68) were found dead in his residence on the HSR layout in the city of Bangalore on Sunday evening.
Police suspect that the deaths of the former DG and IGP were allegedly murdered, which was said to have occurred between 2pm and 4pm. Police arrived at the scene and found Om Prakash in a pool of blood. Om Prakash is said to have been stabbed multiple times, resulting in his death.
Although, according to their preliminary investigation, police have not yet known the so-called motive for murder. Om Prakash has been serving as DG and IGP in Karnataka since 2015 and retired in 2017. OmPrakash was an IPS official in 1981 and a native of Bihar.
However, Hoyasala, a police officer belonging to the patrol, arrived at Om Prakash’s residence around 4.30 pm and found that the door of the house was locked from the inside. It is said that the Hosara team met his wife Palavi and the daughter of Om Prakash in the residence.
Om Prakash’s wife is said to have called the IPS officer and notified the officer to the incident. Later, the warning was warned to Om Prakash’s residence.
Sources told Deccan Chronicle’s suspicion was attributed to Om Prakash’s controversial death with his wife about sharing property, a dispute that may have taken an ugly turn, leading to the alleged murder of Om Prakash in his residence.
After a live inspection, other commissioners of police officer Vikas Kumar attributed the “internal” (family) issues and pointed out that the police needed time to determine the exact cause of the death.
“Since the police suffered a lot of blood loss (at the crime scene), some (a) sharp weapons (in suspected murder) were used,” said the police’s additional commissioner.
However, he said: “Once the First Information Report (FIR) registers a detailed investigation, a detailed investigation into the death of retired DG and IGP will be initiated. All angles will be investigated.” Meanwhile, police have contacted Om Prakash’s son, who will file a complaint with the police to cause the death of his father.
Vikas Kumar asserted: “No one has been arrested yet. Sources say Om Prakash’s wife Pallavi and his daughter were detained in police custody.
