Former AIADMK coordinator O. Panneerselvam urged the DMK government on Sunday to abandon its decision to report raising electricity prices. He cites a media report in a statement, according to which electricity prices will increase by 3.16% from July 1, and the Tamil Nadu Electricity Regulatory Commission has made a decision. “Every yearly revisions to electricity prices, property and water taxes will seriously affect the weaker socio-economic segments. This is condemnable,” he said.
Mr Panneerselvam urged Chief Minister MK Stalin to intervene in the issue and reject a proposal to raise electricity prices.
