Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Monday promised to spend more than Rs 12,600 crore over the next five years to empower the tribe’s financial capabilities. The commitment was part of the Naramara Declaration, Revanth Reddy and his cabinet colleagues were released at Amrabad Mandal in Nagarkurnool district.
“In India’s first initiative, the Tlangana government has conceptualized the “Indira Soura Giri Jala Vikasam” program to enhance livelihoods and incomes of tribal families. The program will cover 4.45 million acres of ROFR (Recognized Forest Rights) land, belonging to 2.1 million farmers in the planned tribal community. It includes integrated land development for agricultural purposes, installation of off-grid solar irrigation systems, and horticultural plantations irrigated with drip irrigation.
Under the ROFR Act of 2006, the state government has recognized 2,30,735 acres of forest rights and vested rights, covering an area of 6.69 billion acres.
In view of the enduring demand for ROFR farmers to provide irrigation facilities for their land, Revanth Reddy directed measures to provide solar pump-based irrigation to St Farmers holding ROFR land, and saturate plantations with drip and hortrulture on a saturated basis, and provide a 100% grant under a special program.
Announced that the state, 10,000 St farmers with 27,184 acres of land will be covered by 2025-26, with a budget of Rs 6 billion, with 50,000 farmers with 1,43,204 acres of land will be covered by 2026-27, with a budget of Rs 3,000 crore, 50,000 ST farmers with 1,43,204 acres of land will be covered by 50,000 crore, with 50,000 ST farmers with 1,43,204 acres of land will be covered by 2029-29, with a budget of Rs 3,000 crore and 50,000 St Farmers with 1,43,204 acres of land will be covered by 2029- 30 years of coverage, with a budget of Rs 3,000 crore.
The declaration also hopes to sanction housing under the Indiramma housing program to saturate all PVTG (especially vulnerable tribal groups) families in the state.
The declaration is also expected to provide Rs 100 crore of self-employed budget for Rs 1 lakh to provide Rs 1 lakh to unemployed youths in ST.
