Saudi Arabia will challenge the IPL supremacy challenge with a global T20 alliance of 43,47,42,00,000

Saudi Arabia plans to invest $500 million in a new global T20 cricket league that will feature templates similar to a tennis Grand Slam event, assembled four times a year in various countries.

Saudi Arabia is preparing to shine in the franchise cricket scene, investing in the new T20 league for up to $500 million (Rs 4347,42,00,000). The league will feature eight teams and will follow a format reminiscent of a tennis Grand Slam, with teams fighting across four different locations throughout the year. Leading this ambitious project is SRJ Sports Investment, a major player in Saudi Arabia led by Danny Townsend, who brought extensive experience from his role as former CEO of the A League.

Discussions on launching the league have been reportedly started for a year, involving the SRJ Sports Investment and International Cricket Committee (ICC).

“This concept has been going on for a year in secret and was the creativity of Neil Maxwell, Australia,” the report said.

The report highlights the main goal of the project, namely, to address the most pressing problems in the movement. This includes addressing growing issues surrounding the sustainability of the world champion trio in India, Australia and England.

Although players will be fully compensated, the Global League is incorporated into the ambition to establish alternative sources of income beyond the financing model established by cricket. In the system, member states earn revenue from broadcasters and ICC distributions, but it is valued, but it has increased coverage of the game’s superpowers and smaller countries and England, which makes financial coverage even harder.

At the moment, there is no official news in the proposed league, but reports suggest it won’t clash with any major T20 tournaments and will be played on its own time. The league is expected to launch new franchises, including teams from Australia and Saudi Arabia, which include men’s and women’s games. Some even say the final may be held in Saudi Arabia.

As we look to the future, the league may face some obstacles as it requires the green light from the Australian Cricket Council and the International Cricket Council (ICC). Ultimately, the decision may be ICC Chairman Jay Shah. Also, it can be tricky to convince the cricket committee, especially the cricket control board in India (BCCI) to get their players to join. It is important to remember that Indian players are usually unable to play in other T20 leagues to maintain the exclusiveness of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
