Rohit Sharma

Indian captain Rohit Sharma on Monday thanked his long-time friend Abhishek Nayar, who was removed from office by BCCI a few days later. Rohit roared for Mumbai Indians with an undefeated 76 in Sunday’s IPL, sharing photos of himself celebrating his fifty people on Instagram and tagged Nayar in the caption.

“Thanks bro @abhisheknayar,” Rohit, 37, wrote on Monday.

Rohit and Nayar played for Mumbai on the domestic tour for a long time.
In recent years, Nayar has been known for having one-on-one meetings with Rohit while in the city.

Nayar’s coaching expertise is also widely respected, and players like Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul benefit from his mentorship.

Rahul acknowledged Nayar’s influence after winning for the Delhi Capitals. “Screaming to Abhishek Nayar. I’ve worked a lot with him since he joined the Indian team.” After India’s disappointing Test match, BCCI recently fired Nayar, Fielding Coach T Dilip and conditioning coach Soham Desai.

Meanwhile, Nayar returns to Kolkata Knight Riders fold, but the IPL side has not specified his exact role and position.

He was a member of the founding of KKR when they won their third IPL title last year, a decade after their last victory in 2014.
