Rolex Monte Carlo Masters 2025: Monte Carlo Masters 2025: Nuno Borges in Holger Rune

Rune, ranked 12th in the ATP ranking, failed to perform well after facing a 2-6 defeat in the first set. In the end, he canceled the game after staying 0-3 in the second round, according to ATP Tour.
Nuno Borges vs Holger Rune: Highlights
In the 42-minute long game, Borges has been dominant from the start as he debuted at the main level of Monte-Carlo’s ATP Masters 1000.
According to details of Infosys ATP statistics, the 2023 Monte Carlo finalist Rune can only get 21% of its second point of sale.
Although the match was considered one of the most competitive matches in the 64 rounds, the runes eventually witnessed a sudden ending as they retired on physical issues.
Borges, currently ranked 43rd worldwide, marks an important milestone in his career with this victory. Last year, the 28-year-old won a historic victory against Rafael Nadal in the ATP 250 Bastad final, becoming one of the few players in the world to beat Nadal in the clay field championship game. Next, he hopes to do the same thing in the 1000 Masters. “I clearly saw that he didn’t feel good,” Borges quoted on the ATP tour. He maintained “real focus” throughout the game, which allowed all possible efforts to keep his opponent from taking advantage of it. He added: “I think I did a great job in this.”
