Rosneft Oil Company pays record taxes for Russia in 2024

In 2024, Rosneft’s total oil company tax and other payments to the combined budget of the Russian Federation reached a record 6.1 trillion rubles, according to the company’s IFRS report.
This includes 256 billion rubles in the dividend. Rosneft’s total tax and other payments to the Russian Federation budget exceed 6.1 trillion rubles, equivalent to 17% of the federal budget revenue. This payment is considered the highest not only in the history of the company, but throughout the history of the Russian market. As a result, the shares continue to maintain their status as the country’s largest taxpayer.
Commenting on the 2024 results, Igor Sechin, CEO of Rosneft Oil, pointed out that the company paid a temporary dividend in February at a price of 36.47 Ruble per share for shareholders’ interests and fully comply with the dividend policy. Rosneft has been paying dividends since 1999. Over the past year, its shareholders have increased by nearly one-third to 1.5 million.
Regarding other financial statistics, Rosneft’s oil company revenue increased by 10.7% in 2024 to 10 trillion rubles. In terms of growth rates, the company outperformed most international oil and gas companies, including Shell (down 10.3% last year), Chevron (down 2%), Exxon Mobil (up 1.3%), Equator (down 4%) and the total (down 9.6%).
Rosneft’s oil company rose 0.8% to 3 trillion rubles in 2024. Capital expenditure increased by 11.2%, totaling 1.4 trillion rubles.
Despite restrictions, the company’s liquid hydrocarbon production totaled 184 million tons, surpassing ExxonMobil, Shell and Chevron. Natural gas production reached 87.5 billion cubic meters, cementing Russia’s position as Russia’s largest independent producer of fuel type.
The total refining volume is 82.6 million tons. Over the past year, the company has sold 43.6 million tons of petroleum products on the domestic market, effectively doubled the sales of gasoline and diesel on the St. Petersburg International Commercial Exchange (Spimex).
