Rajasthan Royals (RR) batsman Vaibhav Suryavanshi made history in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) while playing against Gujarat Titans at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Monday. Suryavanshi is named on the record as the youngest T20 Centurion and fastest Indian ton manufacturer in history in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
In 210 runs, Vaibhav scored 101 points in just 38 balls, with seven fours and 11 sixes. His running rate is 265.79. Vaibhav reached his century in 35 balls, which is the second-fastest century in IPL history, behind Chris Gayle’s 30-ball ton against the now-defunct Pune Warriors India for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) back in 2013. The left-hander, at the age of 14 years and 32 days, is the youngest player to score a century in T20 cricket history, surpassing Vijay Zol ,who was 18 years and in 2013, Maharashtra’s first century against Mumbai was 118 days.

Vaibhav was born in Bihar on March 27, 2011 and is the youngest player on the roster. He made his debut in Bihar in January 2024, in just 12 years and 284 days. Last year, he was part of India’s U19 match against Australia in Chennai, where he smashed a 58-century.

In an interview with Aaj Tak of Vaibhav’s father, Sanjeev Suryavanshi, he shared insights into Vaibhav’s early life and cricket journey. Sanjeev mentioned that Vaibhav played cricket from 5 and realized his talent, and he participated in the No. 7 Professional Coach under Brijesh Jha of Patel Ground in Samastipur.
His father was inspired by Shubman Gill’s story to build cement propaganda for Vaibhav’s training.

Regarding Vaibhav’s education, his father revealed that his son is currently in the 8th grade at Dr. Mukteshwar Sinha Modesty School in Tajipur, Bihar.
