Rubio talks with Parker Prime Minister Sharif’s Eam Jaishankar; urging compression of tensions

New York/Washington: The United States has encouraged India and Pakistan to eliminate tensions, reaffirmed its commitment to working with Delhi against terrorism, and urged Islamabad to investigate the “unreasonable” Pahalgam terrorist attacks.

In a conversation with Sharif, Rubio talked about the need to condemn the April 22 terrorist attack in Pahalgam and urged Pakistani officials to cooperate in investigating “this unreasonable attack”.
He also encouraged Pakistan to work with India to ease tensions, rebuild direct communications, and maintain peace and security in South Asia.
Rubio and Sharif “reaffirmed their continued commitment to accountability for the violence of terrorists.”
