Russian President Putin says Easter truce is over and Ukrainian campaigns are fully restored | World News

Moscow: Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Monday that the 30-hour truce of Easter has ended and Ukraine’s special military operations have resumed full force. The Easter truce ended at midnight on Sunday local time, during which both sides accused each other of violating the rules.

Putin said in a performance with reporters that overall, military activities of the Ukrainian armed forces have declined during the 30-hour truce of Easter. Putin quoted the state-run Tass news agency: “The combat operation has begun again.” Putin said that despite Kiev’s 4,900 violations against the Easter truce, Ukraine’s combat activity still decreased significantly.

“Kiev is now trying to capture the initiative on the ceasefire to talk about expanding the time frame and goals,” Putin said. Initially, Ukraine was reluctant to join the unilateral ceasefire. Putin did not rule out that “Western curators of the Ukrainian regime” advised them not to reject Russia’s proposed Easter ceasefire.

He said that despite this, Russia welcomes any ceasefire and is ready to look to the future. “We will learn from the outcome of the Easter truce.” Putin said he is studying Ukraine’s proposal for a moratorium on strikes against civilian targets, but Kiev uses it for military purposes.

He recalled that the Soviet-Mi Parliament Hall hit by Russian missiles was used to award military personnel from civilians in Kursk, Russia to “conflict war crimes”, while in port cities, a missile test was conducted in civilian areas.
