RV Karnan served as commissioner of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) from outgoing Ilambarithi official on Tuesday (29 April 2025). The latter was transferred and mailed as Secretary Metropolitan Area and Urban Development (HMDA Limit). The two were one of several IAS officials transferred by the Telangana government on Sunday (April 27, 2025).
Mr Karnan, an IAS official in 2012, had earlier served as Director of the Health and Family Welfare Department, whose Purview Food Safety Department conducted extensive inspections in the footsteps of Hyderabad sales stores.
