Sai Sudharsan script history, surpassing Sachin Tendulkar's claim to be huge T20 record

The 23-year-old has achieved a feat in Match 51 of the IPL 2025 season match against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Gujarat Titans batsman Sai Sudharsan broke Sachin Tendulkar's record and became the fastest Indian cricketer to get 2000 runs in the T20 cricket match. The left-handed batsman achieved an extraordinary feat against Sunrisers Hyderabad, where he scored 48 runs and only 23 births. Sudharsan performed excellent forms after hitting nine quarters before being rejected by Zeeshan Ansari. Previously, Shaun Marsh held the fastest record, hitting the 2000 run of T20 cricket and winning the game in 53 innings. The record was previously retained by legendary Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar, who achieved the milestone in 59 innings.
The fastest Indian batsman will reach 2000 T20 runs (innings):
54th round – Sai Sudharsan
59th round – Sachin Tendulkar
60th round – Ruturaj Gaikwad
61th round – Devdutt Padikkal
61th round – Rajat Patidar
Sunrisers Hyderabad won the match and chose to first play against Gujarat Titans in the 51st match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2025 at the Narendra Modi Stadium. Of the five games that the venue has played, none of the teams have chosen the first game of the season.
Sunrisers Hyderabad is on the verge of elimination, and the losses could lead them to become the third team, second only to Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals to exit the game. Captain Pat Cummins said: “We will bowl first. You never know what will happen. Sometimes, the night is best. We won the first game on the CSK field. Hopefully, the trend will continue. If we win all the games. If we win all the games, we still have a chance. We haven't clicked like a team. We've shown improvements in the last few games.
The Titans faced setbacks after the Titans first played four straight games and ranked highest on the table. They will cause huge losses to the Rajasthan Royals. The home team has changed their roster, with Gerald Coetzee replacing Karim Janat.
