Sailaja serves as chairman of the Associated Press Women’s Committee

Vijayawada: Rayapati Sailaja served as chairman of the Women’s Council of Andhra Pradesh on Monday, pledging to combat atrocities against women and ensure swift judicial justice for victims.

After the swearing-in ceremony of the Commission’s Mangalagiri office, she outlined the agenda for empowering women. “I will work tirelessly to resolve pending cases and to bring serious things to the attention of the National Women’s Commission when necessary.”

The new chairman announced plans to launch a dedicated website to directly report crimes against women and promised strict action against those who target obscene content on social media platforms.

She stressed her commitment to serving all citizens regardless of political affiliation, while ensuring rapid judicial delivery. She thanked Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan, IT Minister Nara Lokesh and Trade Union Minister Pemmasani Chandrasekhar for their support.
