Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin expressed grief on Wednesday (April 9, 2025) to former Tamil Congress Director Kumari Ananthan.
“Mr. Kumari Ananthan surrendered to Congress. His death was a huge loss to the Tamil community,” Mr. Stalin said in a statement.
Mr. Annandan was elected as a member of Parliament and served four times as a member of the Legislative Assembly. He said he established the right to speak in the Tamil Parliament, and pride was attributed to him.
Stalin said last year, the state government presented Mr Anantan with the “Thagaisal Thamizhar” award for his life and contribution to Tamil.
“When I presented the awards on Independence Day, I remember the conversation with Mr Anantan burst into tears.”
Stalin said: “I myself comforted Mr. Ananasen to stay in our hearts forever through the Tamils in many books and stage speeches.”
Mr. Stalin expressed his condolences to Ananthan’s daughter, Tamilisai Soundararajan, as well as relatives and family, as well as congressional cadres and literary circles.
