Samantha’s Subham begins with lukewarmness.

Despite the positive promotion of Samantha Ruth Prabhu, her debut Subham was open to the unlucky response at the box office. The horror comedy, a newcomer and featured Samantha, managed to collect Rs 250 crore in its brief cameo on opening days in Andhra Pradesh and Tlangana.

“It needs to be picked up and maintained substantially,” said a leading distributor. “Samantha was impressed by Tantrik’s role, but while the concept is promising, a bad execution hurts its chances.”

This marks Samantha’s return to the big screen after her famous web series in Family Man 2 and Castle: Honey and Bunny. However, Telugu audiences did not make a lot of results for her dramatic comeback.

The distributor added: “The film has some fun moments and explores women’s quirky obsession with daily soaps, but lacks the depth to get the audience involved.”

Meanwhile, actor Nani wrote on X: “Hope Samantha Ruth Prabhu has been a huge success with Subham. Love the trailer and the idea.” It is estimated that the project invested Rs 4 crore, and Samantha hopes such kindness (and a stronger word of mouth) will help turn things around at the box office.
