A sanitary worker reportedly died after sucking harmful gas while cleaning the septic tank in Shantinagar in Hungar township, reportedly re-injured.
The deceased was identified as Chaitanya in Madanapalle town of Anna Maya District (35). Around noon, he and a colleague began cleaning a spilled septic tank in the apartment building. Sources said neither wears any safety gear.
When the two did not come out of the tank, locals reminded the police and fire department. During rescue attempts, Chaitanya was found dead. Another worker was rescued and rushed to the government hospital in Madanapalle, whose condition is said to be crucial. Hungar City Police registered a case and conducted an investigation.
