Sara Tendulkar enters acrocket, and her team’s name is…

Sara spoke on stage with Rajan Navani, founder and CEO of Jetsynthesys in a rare public event in Bengaluru.
Sara Tendulkar has been right close to cricket, not only because she is Sachin Tendulkar’s daughter, but because she grew up from the sports around her. Now she has entered a new stage, a new stage where traditional technology is in line with spaces, and her personal love for gaming has found a modern path. Sara has become the owner of the Mumbai franchise in the Global Electronic Cricket League (GEPL). GEPL is an electronic cricket and entertainment league that uses the game “Real Cricket”.
Sara spoke on stage with Rajan Navani, founder and CEO of Jetsynthesys in a rare public event in Bengaluru. She shared that cricket has always been more than just a sport in her home, but it feels like in her DNA, watching how games bring people together and build strong connections.
“Cricket has always been more than just a sport in my home,” she said. “Maybe it does indeed run in my DNA. I’ve grown up around it – I’ve seen its function not only is the game, but the power that brings people together.”
When asked about owning a Mumbai team in the league, she said it was natural because Mumbai was where she was born and raised, which made it a proud and personal choice.
“Mumbai is the city where I was born – it’s my home. So it’s very special to be able to represent it. It’s not just part of being a new format – it’s about pushing the game forward in ways that make sense for the world today.”
She believes that Ecricket is fast, dynamic and more accessible, making it attractive to young people, whether it’s wanting to play, create content or enjoy the game in new ways.
“It’s fast, interactive, and is growing rapidly – just like the world we live in. What excites me the most is that it brings new ways to young people to experience cricket, whether as a player, a creator or a fan.”
For the young women who appreciate her, Sara shared a strong message of encouragement.
“Do what you love. Don’t be afraid to put yourself there. Say loudly, take risks, even if you fail – don’t let you stop you. The power of trying.”
Although she comes from a family with close ties to cricket, Sarah is now starting to create her own identity, talking with thoughts and purposes, and moving forward in a way that is true to herself.
