SC hears professor requesting arrests posted on Op Sindoor

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Monday agreed to hear Ali Khan Mahmudabad, head of the Department of Political Science at Ayudh University, pleading guilty, challenging his arrest for social media posts related to Operation Sindor. The judge, composed of Chief Justice Br Gavai and Judge Augustine George Masih, took note of the opinions of senior advocate Kapil Sibal and appeared for the associate professor and said the request would be listed on Tuesday or Wednesday.
“He was arrested for a patriotic statement. Please list it during the day,” Sibar said.

“Please list tomorrow or later,” CJI said.

The professor was subject to strict charges on Sunday for social media posts related to Sindoor’s operations, including endangering sovereignty and integrity, including endangering sovereignty and integrity.

The Haryana Women’s Commission recently asked the Associate Professor about his remarks, although Mahamudabad insisted that they were “misunderstood” and asserted that he had exercised his basic right to freedom of speech.

Haryana Police Deputy Commissioner Kadyan said two pilots were filed at the RAI Police Station in Sonipat – one based on a complaint by Renu Bhatia, chairman of Haryana Women’s Commission, and the other based on a complaint by Sarpanch.
