“This enhancement is expected to greatly benefit business travelers, tourists, and the general public by improving accessibility and convenience. The upgrade comes on the heels of a recent meeting between the government of Karnataka, led by Infrastructure Development Minister MB Patil and Rural Development and Panchayat Raj and Information Technology and Biotechnology Minister and Kalaburagi district The discussion focuses on addressing the regional air connectivity challenges, including those targeting Karablaji, marks a positive step in strengthening the region’s air infrastructure, and we have repeatedly raised concerns about the Union’s Ministry of Civil Aviation’s issues claiming their efforts have played a key role in highlighting the region’s connectivity gap.

While welcoming the resumption of daily flights to Bangalore, KKCCI also called for a resumption of routes to New Delhi and Tirupati, which they claim is crucial for business and religious travel. In addition, KKCCI proposed a new aviation service connecting Kalaburagi with Mumbai, Ahmedabad (Via Surat), Rajasthan (Kishhangarh) and Goa (Goa).

KKCCI believes that these routes have great potential to drive trade, tourism and overall regional development.

KKCCI President Sharanabasappa M. Pappa highlighted the importance of further expanding the network to meet the growing demand in the region. “This is a step in the right direction, but our vision is to see the Karabraj Airport become a key hub for domestic and regional travel,” Mr Papa said.
