Telangana Panchayati Raj D. Anasuya’Seethakka’ said the BJP tried to bring “Manudharma” (Manu of Manu) in India in lieu of the Constitution.

Speaking at the BR Ambedkar Memorial Plan as part of the “Thrivarnotsavam”, a one-month plan that opened a new regional congressional committee office in Kozhikode on Tuesday (April 15, 2025), Ms Anasuya said that if it weren’t for the Constitution and not for the Constitutional women like her, then tribal women like her would not be MLA or ministers. “But our constitution is at risk now, and we, citizens, have a responsibility to protect it,” she said.

She claimed that the BJP is trying to “divid and dominate” like the British by causing chaos and spreading misinformation. She said Congress had begun a battle, just like the battle it had fought against the British, “recovered” India.

Ms Anasuya said Ambdekar did not live for himself, but for the country. She added: “Parliament does not allow anyone to insult Ambedka.”

DCC Chairman K. Praveenkumar hosted the event.
