SC rejects J&K's travel safety requirement in pursuit of publicity

In view of the recent Pahargam terrorist attacks, the Supreme Court on Monday rejected seeking tourists' safety in remote hilly areas of Jamu and Kashmir, with 26 people killed. Surya Kant and Justice Nkotiswar Singh announced Vishal Tiwari's defense attorney and said it was for any public incidents to file for PIL without any public lawsuit.
Surya Kant told Judge Tiwari that he said: “Why did you come up with this PIL? What is your real motivation? Don't you understand the sensitivity of the problem? I think you are asking for some exemplary fees for this PIL.” The petitioner lawyer said this is the first time tourists from Jamu and Kashmir have been targeted, so he is looking for instructions for safety.
The bench said by order: “Petitioners are addicted to applications one by one, while another PIL seems to be trying to promote without interest in public utilities.” Terrorists opened fire on April 22 in Baisaran, a popular tourist resort in the upper area of Pahalgam, killing 26 people, mainly tourists from other states.
The incident is with India-Pakistan tensions with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's claim that the “killer” will be “to the end of the earth”.
