The Supreme Court refused to accept a petition on Thursday (May 1, 2025) requesting a judicial investigation into the Pahalgam terrorist attack by a former Supreme Court judge. Judge Surya Kant, who heads the bench, said: “The judge is not an expert in such matters.”

The court expressed a harsh view on the submission of such petitions and said: “This is a critical period where every citizen is fighting terrorism. Do not be depressed by making such petitions”.
The Supreme Court denounced the PIL petitioners, asking them if they want to be depressed and telling them not to raise such questions in the judicial field.
The withdrawal of the petition was rejected.
