SC Requirements Center, NMC responds to two transformations to the 2025 NEET PG exam

The Supreme Court issued a notice to the central government, the National Medical Commission and the National Review Commission on Monday that the request challenged the NEET PG exam 2025, which will be conducted in two separate shifts. The bench led by Justice BR Gavai issued a notice to the above authorities and listed the matter to be heard next week.

Request to file two NEET PG exams in court

The United Doctors Front (UDF) requested a one-time shift in NEET PG Exam 2025 to ensure consistency in transparency, difficulty levels and equal evaluation criteria. According to the request, NEET PG behavior in the two transitions has different problem papers, resulting in inevitable differences in difficulty levels, thus allowing candidates to meet the criteria for inequality assessment. It said: “This violates articles 14 and 21 of the Constitution and guarantees the right to equal and equitable opportunities before the law.”

Therefore, the request is seeking instructions to the respondent authorities for the NEET PG 2025 exam at the single unification phase/conference and a temporary stay in the inspection scheduled for June 15, 2025. The request also marks certain other issues through the inspection process, including defects in the normalization method. The request said: “The statistical normalization process passed by the NBE lacks transparency, public consultation or expert review.”

It further emphasized that NEET PG 2024 also made two shifts, witnessing widespread attention and expression of the differences in outcomes that have not been addressed.
Furthermore, it points out that the normalization formula is based on the flawed assumption that the difficulty of crossing shifts is the same as the candidate’s ability. The request was made by advocate Satyam Singh Rajput on behalf of UDF.
