Schools are closed in border areas between Punjab and Rajasthan after “Operation sindoor”,

All schools in six border areas of Punjab are still closed on Thursday (8 May 2025) amid soaring tensions between India and Pakistan.
They said the schools were closed in the Ferozepur, Pathankot, Fazilka, Amritsar, Gurdaspur and Tarn Taran areas.
Deputy Commissioner Tarn Taran issued an order saying all schools in the area will be closed from May 8 to 11.

Officials said in Ferozepur, authorities ordered the school to be closed for the next 72 hours until further orders.

They said that schools in Fazilka will also remain closed until further orders.
Schools closed in Rajasthan border area
All government and private schools in the border area of Rajasthan, including Barmer, Bikaner, Sri Ganganagar and Jaisalmer, have announced a holiday until further notice.
Regional collector Tina Dabi issued an order: “I, I, Tina Dabi, the Regional Disaster and Disaster Management Agency, Barmer, exercises the powers granted under Chapter 4, Chapter 40 of the Disaster Act 2005, given that Barmer (Barmer) will also be postponed to the 12th class in the Bamer area from May 8, 2025 to May 8, 2025 to the 12th class in the Bamer area.”
The Jodpur Regional Government announced the closure of all private and public schools and Anganwadis throughout the city on Thursday (May 8, 2025) until further orders.
Regional collector Gaurav Agarwal issued the directive, noting: “In view of the current situation, holidays will be announced in all private and government schools and in Anganwadis starting today.”
