SCR conducts civil defense drills in Kacheguda

Hyderabad: Central Southern Railway said it will hold a comprehensive civil defense drill at Kachegda Station and some other stations in the Hyderabad subdistrict on Wednesday.
The exercise will be organized under the supervision of SCR Deputy General Manager Udaynath Kotla, who is also the director of Civil Defense, as well as a team of civil defense volunteers, lecturers and personnel who will simulate hostile attack situations to assess emergency preparedness and inter-agency coordination.
Activating air strike sirens, implementation of crash power outage measures, rehearsal of evacuation plans, preparations for civil defense services, including firefighting, basic life support (BLS) and rescue operations, form part of the exercise.
In a statement, SCR said that all relevant departments will participate in the exercises and ensure smooth execution of exercises in their respective locations. In addition, during drilling, power outage measures will be implemented at the railway station, including closing non-essential lighting and window coverings in line with Civil Defense Guidelines. The exercise is designed to strengthen the overall emergency framework and preparation for railway personnel and infrastructure in wartime emergencies, SCR said.
