This is the first train in India to use an ATM, and passengers are even allowed to withdraw cash…; check the route

ATM has been set up in the train’s communication coach. However, all 22 coaches from the train can reach it through passengers.
Indian Railways has installed ATMs in Panchavati Express, making it the first train in India to install ATMs on board. The machine allows passengers to withdraw cash even when the train moves. In addition to withdrawing cash, passengers can also use ATM to order checkbooks and receive account reports. ATM is partnered by Maharashtra Bank in partnership with the Busavar branch of Central Railway (CR). ATM has been set up in the train’s communication coach. However, since all 22 coaches of Panchvati Express can be connected via the vestibular connection, it can be accessed from all 22 passengers of Panchvati Express. To ensure safety, the ATM is equipped with a shutter system and is monitored by CCTV cameras all day.
Panchavati Express runs between Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CSMT) and Manmad Junction (MMR) in Mumbai, Maharashtra. ATM was introduced as part of the Indian Railway Innovation and Non-Financial Income Thought Plan (INFRIS). Railway officials said the experiments were well done and the machines worked smoothly throughout the journey. However, there are some short network problems between Igatpuri and Kasara, which are known for poor signals due to limited tunneling and mobile connections. Railway officials said the service could expand to more trains if passengers are popular among passengers.
Interestingly, Mumbai-Hingoli Jan Shatabdi Express passengers will also use the same ATM as it shares the same rake with Panchavati Express. This means that more passengers on longer routes will also benefit from the facilities. “The results are great. People can now withdraw cash when traveling. We will continue to monitor the performance of the machine,” said Ity Pandey, Bhusawal’s divisional railway manager. “The idea was first proposed at an infrastructure conference organized by the Bhusawal branch.
