Tensions between India and Pakistan soared after the deadly attacks on Jamu and Pahalgam in Kashmir, India suspended PAK Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif's YouTube channel. Previously, Instagram claims about Pakistani actors Fawad Khan, Hania Amir, Mahira Khan and Cricketers Shan Masood, Hasan Ali, Naseem Shah, Imam-ul-Haq, Shadab Khan and former stars Shoaib Akhtar and Shahid Afridi were also blocked.
On April 22, terrorists associated with the Resistance Front (TRF) shot 25 tourists and shot a local man in the Baisaran valley in Pahalgam. The attack was one of the deadliest since the Pulwama massacre in 2019 – witnessing the deterioration of relations between India and Pakistan, with the two countries repeatedly attacking each other with diplomatic actions.
India has taken bold countermeasures to cross-border terrorism following the Pahargam tragedy, including suspension of the Indus River Water Treaty, suspending visa-visa countries, deporting Pakistani advisers and closing Atari-Wagha Waga Waga border.
In retaliation, Pakistan also took a series of steps that can only be seen as “mirror” the steps taken by India. It also threatens to terminate the 1972 Simla Agreement – a peace treaty signed between the two countries aimed at normalizing the bond.
