Shashanka, a 2013 batch IAS official, serves as the first specialist of the Future Urban Development Bureau

Telangana Future Urban Development Authority (FCDA) received its first commissioner on Monday (28 April 2025). K. Shashanka is responsible for the FCDA position – formed by the state government on March 12, 2025.

Mr. Shashanka was an IAS official in the 2013 batch and had previously served as a collector of Mahabubabad, Rangareddy and Karimnagar. He serves as Director of Mining and Geology at the All Additional Cost (FAC). The official is also a specialist in the national flagship program. The government held him the FCDA position on Sunday (April 27, 2025).

What is the city of the future?

There has been a lot of discussion about future urban projects – the creativity of Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. This is one of the flagship projects mentioned by the Chief Minister in his meeting with investors. Telangana Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TGIIC) intends to develop economic and industrial clusters there. The future urban areas are distributed in 765.28 square kilometers, including 56 income villages from the seven Ranga Reddy Districts in the Ranga Reddy District.

“In order to ensure centralized development and to achieve specific goals such as planning, coordination and supervision, and to ensure the planned development of future urban areas and the affairs related to it, a special development authorization is needed immediately, named as the Future Urban Development Agency for Future Urban Areas,”
