SC keeps demolished houses, commercial property at Chandni Chowk

New Delhi: The Supreme Court demolished residential and commercial properties in the Fatehpuri area of the capital Chandi Chowk on Tuesday as it raised the MCD for its powerlessness. A Justice Surya Kant and N Kotiswar Singh reviewed photos of the area submitted by the middleman and condemned the Delhi Municipal Corporation (MCD) for not stopping the construction of the commercial complex.
The MCD was instructed to submit a status report where all details failed, and the court warned it to look at action or to make inferences about their inferences with the builder in Cahoots.
Bench Order: “At the same time, the construction and conversion of residential buildings and commercial complexes will be removed.”
MCD lawyers said a team visited the area, inspected the entire premises and nearby areas and filed reports, according to court orders.
He said the report was not recorded on the record due to holidays and guaranteed that all illegal buildings were deleted.
The Supreme Court is hearing the request of a petitioner who claims that the area is underway for illegal construction, allegedly conspiring with the citizen authorities.
The bench asked her to bring up some names of independent architects and civil engineers who could visit the site for inspection and submit reports to the court.
The bench said we want to conduct independent inspections of the website as we cannot rely on reports from MCD officials and posted the matter on May 23.
On February 17, the Supreme Court ordered the illegal buildings in the busy Chandni Chowk area of Delhi to investigate the CBI, which the MCD failed to inspect.
It expressed concern and accused MCD officials of inaction to inspect unauthorized buildings in urban commercial hubs.
The MCD claims that the alleged unauthorized building was removed from office under an order from the Delhi High Court, where trial is still under trial.
The petitioners challenged two orders from the Delhi High Court, including the demolition of the unauthorized building in Fatehpuri, Chandni Chowk, which was disposed of in the warranty of the MCD.
