Sherlock and Homes: Benedict Cumberbatch and Ed Miliband’s wife battle plan, with a £5.6m six-story apartment building near its north London property

Sherlock star Benedict Cumberbatch has joined a community to block plans for a £5.6 million six-story six-story apartment in north London.
The Oscar-nominated actor, one of Dartmouth Park residents, urged the Camden Council to reject the current proposal to revamp an existing property called Lamorna, which includes Dame Justine Thornton, wife of former labor leader Ed Miliband.
Cumberbatch, 48, raised concerns about the two-story building currently in the area not far from Hampstead Heath, the Redbrick property’s plan to change in the 1930s.
The actor’s films include imitation games and the power of dogs, and he has a home in the area with the theater director’s wife Sophie Turner.
The plan shows that developer HGG London has proposed plans to knock down the current building and replace it with a new six-story block. Camden New Journal Report.
The Camden authority of labor operations sends and shares responses of opposition and support to and online, which has not yet made a decision on the proposal.
A BPS charter surveyor report to the council estimates that the six planned new apartments will be worth £5.6 million, ranging from £7 billion to £1.4 million per person.
Cumberbatch’s submission states: “Approval will set a precedent. For example, can I now remove my property and replace it with an apartment without the same planning approval?

“Or worse, the property behind the proposal could be applied to remove the larger property of the proposal to form a large development.”
He and his wife provided a letter that the new-looking building would be in line with the heritage of Dartmouth Park.
They added: “You just have to look at the adjacent properties to see the differences in style, material, color and feeling.”
The company behind the planning app describes it on its website as an “exciting new residential development.”
Maddox Planning, who has been working with HGG London, said: “We are pleased to propose this high-quality project that will provide much-needed new homes in a well-laden and vibrant area.
“Our team is pleased to share with you our innovative suggestions to truly enhance the area to make it a more attractive place to live.”
Among other critics, however, is attorney Justine Thornton, who lives nearby with her husband, the environment secretary Ed Miliband.
She wrote: “No objection to the reconstruction principle, especially when more housing is needed. However, the design seems too high, too bulky and too dense.

Cumberbatch and his theater director wife Sophie Hunter took a photo at a serpentine summer party in London last June and wrote information about the plan to Camden Parliament
“This application provides the Council with another opportunity to demonstrate its commitment to providing sympathetic design housing by acknowledging the benefits of reconstruction while rejecting this design. ”
Other responses sent by other residents include: “Using existing homes and materials to upgrade it, rather than the entire demolition and construction process, making the lamorna refurbishment/extension more sustainable.”
“The proposal is oversized, bulky, pretentious and uncomfortable in street scenes,” another contributor said.
The Council was also informed in a different submission to its consulting process: “I have no objection to the proposal to demolish Ramona. It is an ugly modern house with no character.
“But, the new app for building a six-apartment and basement is too big to ruin the feel of this place.
“If you have to limit the new development to four floors to maintain some kind of harmony with the neighboring house.”
Meanwhile, Camden MP Camron Aref-Adib said: “I want to share my support for some of the concerns raised by residents about the application for this program.
“My main concern is related to the loss of light and privacy in neighboring homes, and I ask planners to carefully observe this risk and seek appropriate mitigation.

Another resident who opposed the plan was attorney Dame Justine Thornton, who took a photo with her husband, her labor politician, Ed Miliband.
“I seek assurance that developers will minimize carbon emissions during the demolition period, as well as minimize carbon emissions in the proposed new building and high standards of energy efficiency and environmental sustainability.”
London developer HGG said in an application to the Camden Commission: “Development is an excellent opportunity to improve the economic, social and environmental conditions of the region and it is in line with the development policy of housing.
“It is worth noting that the development will offer new housing on the brownfield site in accessible locations.”
The company added that the proposed new building will “improve the local townscape” and provide “a much-needed two-bedroom and family housing supply.”
