Shirdi’s Sai Baba Temple does not allow garlands, bouquets, shawls

Mumbai: Amid rising security concerns in the country, Sai Baba Temple Trust in Shirdi, Maharashtra decided not to allow garlands, bouquets and shawls to bring them into the temple complex. Last week, a threatening email was received at the famous temple, which attracts millions of devotees every year.
Goraksh Gadilkar, a member of the Sai Baba Sansthan Trust, said devotees will conduct a search before entering the temple.
He told PTI: “Sansthan received a threat email on May 2. In view of tensions in India-Pakistan and security alerts across the country, flowers, garlands, Prasad and shawls will not be allowed inside.”
Ahilyanagar area police also made some suggestions to enhance the safety of the temple.
