Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut expanded his support to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday (17 April 2025).
During protests against the WAQF (Amendment) Bill 2025, unrest broke out in Murhidabad, violence erupted on April 11, and claimed three lives while being injured. The properties are also damaged in the conflict.
“I totally agree with Mamata,” Lauter said in a press conference. Didi. Whether it is where the BJP fails to form a government, whether it is Kerala, Tamil Nadu or Bangladesh, it will try to cause unrest. This is their habit. ”
Shiv Sena (UBT) leaders also defended the party’s recent use of artificial intelligence (AI) to recreate the voice of late Shiv Sena founder Bal Thackeray at a rally in Nashik.
“We are using AI technology, and our country has made a lot of progress. China and the United States are ahead of us. Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself will talk about AI. So if someone uses this technology, Balasaheb is telling the truth through it.”
He challenged critics, saying: “If anyone questioned whether Balasaheb’s words are right or wrong, I’m ready to accept that this is a lie. We can debate in Nashik.”
Mr Lauter also launched a harsh attack on Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, labeling him as a “traitor”.
“The term ‘traitor’ is first defined by Balasaheb when Narayan Rane left the party. If we don’t call those who betrayed the party traitors, what should we call them?” he asked.
He further criticized the state government for reducing funds in the Ladki Behan program, warning: “There will be cuts that affect women, farmers and students.”
The remarks came amid escalating political tensions in West Bengal, with the opposition accusing the BJP of undermining the stability of the non-BJP-ruling country.
