Shivamogga Deputy Commissioner Gurudatt Hegde directed officials from universities and departments operating the hotel in Shivamogga to announce a three-day holiday from May 18 and to evacuate students to accommodate state government employees visiting the city to participate in state-level sports competitions.
The Karnataka State Government Employees Association will have a three-day sports meeting and cultural events starting from May 18. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is expected to host the event, with hundreds of employees across the state visiting the city to participate in the program.
At the request of the association, the Deputy Commissioner ordered Navule, the University and Horticulture University, the University Education Department, Social Welfare, Backward Classes, Minorities and Programme Tribal Welfare officials announced the announcement of hotel holidays.
The warden and officers in charge of the hotel are instructing students to evacuate the hotel with their luggage as the deputy commissioner’s order. This hits many degree students who are preparing for the semester exam.
