Sikhs celebrate Vaisakhi with great enthusiasm

Hyderabad: The 326th Khalsa Panth Foundation Day, commonly known as Vaisakhi, celebrated with great dedication and enthusiasm in the Sikh community on Sunday. The large event was held under the Aegis of the Prabhandak Committee at Gurudwara Saheb Ameerpet.
The main congregation was held at the Sri Guru Gobind Singhji playground in Ameerpet, where thousands of Sikhs and people of other faiths participated in the Vishaal Deewan (Public Congregation). From 11.30 a.m. to 5 p.m., the venue resonates with Gurbani Keertans and Kathas (Sermons) published by renowned Ragi Jathas from all over the country. Their message emphasizes life with high moral values and recalls the establishment of Khalsa Panth. They urged their followers to uphold the doctrine of peace, public harmony and national unity of Gru Granth Sahibji.
After the congregation, the traditional master ka Langal (community meal) was prepared by faithful volunteers. In the evening, a magnificent and colorful Nagar Keertan (sacred parade) was taken from Gurudwara Saheb Ameerpet, passed by Begumpet, Punjagutta, and returned to Gurudwara. Guru Granth Sahibji is religiously carried on a beautifully decorated vehicle and accompanied by Nishaan Saheban. Keertani Jathas of men, women and youth sang hymns while Panj Pyaras and Sikh youth performed the breathtaking gatka martial arts organized by Kalgidhar Dashmesh Jatha. Kada Prasad, tea and snacks are dedicated to devotees and passers-by on the way.
The celebration will continue to be held at the same location on April 14 with the Vaisakhi Raen Sabhai Keertan Darbar (night congregation).
