Simi Valley's plane crash: pilot killed, small plane crashes into house, FAA and NTSB investigation | World News

Police confirmed that a small plane attacked two houses in a residential area in the Simi Valley on Saturday afternoon, killing pilots and lighting the fire. No one was injured on the ground. According to the Simi Valley Police Department, the plane was a van RV-10 that crashed around 2:10 p.m. in the 200 block of High Grass Street near Wood Ranch Park Avenue.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) reports that the yet-unnamed pilot is the only pilot on the plane. The plane has departed from William J. Fox Airport in Lancaster to Camarillo Airport.
“These structures are two-story single-family homes affected by fire and ongoing structural damage,” the Ventura County Fire Department said in a social media post on Platform X (formerly Twitter). Firefighters were able to knock down the fire quickly throughout the night and resume salvage efforts.

Video footage posted to social media illustrates the massive smoke from the crash site, as well as many emergency personnel and many equipment that flocked the houses involved.
Wood Ranch Parkway and High Meadow Street were blocked when authorities investigated the crash. The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) are conducting a joint investigation into the incident.
