Trump hopes India-Pakistan conflict ends 'soon'

U.S. President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that he hopes the conflict between India and Pakistan is “soon” after troops in New Delhi launched a strike and vowed to retaliate.“In fact, they've been fighting for decades and centuries, and if you really think about it…I just hope it ends soon,” AFP said at the White House.
In a calibrated military response by the Pahargham terrorist attacks, which caused 25 Indians and a Nepali citizen, Indian armed forces launched strikes earlier on Wednesday on nine terrorists in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir attacks, including Bahawarpur, the base of the Jaish-e-mohammad group. Indian Army announced cross-border operations under Operation Sindor at 1:44 am
“Not long ago, Indian armed forces launched an operation 'sindoor' in Pakistan to combat terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan, Pakistan occupied Jamu and Kashmir, from where terrorist attacks against India were planned and directed to terrorists attacks on India,” the Indian army said. The operation was stressed that the operation was “centralized, measured and non-shrinkable in nature.”

The Army added: “There are no military facilities targeting Pakistan. India has shown considerable limitations in selecting targets and implementing methods.”

The strike came after the high-level security review meeting held on April 29, when Prime Minister Narendra Modi granted the armed forces complete freedom to plan a response. The government reiterated its position that those responsible for the April attack in Pahalgam will be held accountable. “These steps were in the context of the savage Pahargam terrorist attack, in which 25 Indians and a Nepali citizen were murdered,” the army said. Senior military officials closely monitored the operation, which government sources confirmed was carried out under strategic supervision.
