Singtel Arm sells Rs 85.6 crore shares on Bharti Airtel

Singapore-based telecom group Singtel will sell valued shares ₹According to people familiar with the matter, there were 8.56 million shares or 0.8% of the shares in Balti Airtel through a deal Friday.

Singtel’s subsidiary Pastel Ltd will sell 47.6 million Bharti Airtel shares at a quote price ₹1,800 per share. This is a 3.3% discount on the closing price ₹1,863.10 of the National Stock Exchange. Brokerage JP Morgan will manage the transaction.

As of March, starter group company Pastel holds a 9.49% stake in Bharti Airtel. Singtel also partially owns Bharti Telecom, the parent company of Bharti Airtel.

The stock hit a 52-week height ₹1,917 on NSE. Bharti Airtel shares rose 1.6% on May 15 ₹1,867.20 on NSE.

The company’s capital expenditures from January to March quarters are ₹144.01 million. BNP Paribas, in a report on 13 May, said, “While Q4FY25 capex was elevated, the company’s capex fell yoy in FY25 and it expects capex to reduce further in FY26, especially in the India Mobile segment. While overall capex is set to decline, the company is looking to invest in high-growth areas such as home broadband, enterprise and digital while reducing subsidies in the low-growth DTH (direct to home)

Bharti Airtel strengthened capital expenditure in the main broadband sector, as the industry could almost double to 800,000-900,000 subscribers in the medium term. The company will also continue to invest in high-growth areas such as cloud and data centers.
