The Special Investigation Team (SIT) asked YSRCP leader and Rajput Parliament member PV Midhun Reddy here on Saturday, allegedly amid a dorupee liquor scandal during the YSRCP government term.
Mr Midhun Reddy appeared in front of investigative officers with his attorney, who was questioned for about eight hours. SIT may call him again for interrogation.
Officials reportedly asked Midi Hunter Mr Reddy about his contacts with other defendants in the scandal, launching new liquor brands, meetings for meetings to develop alcohol policies, lending loans and their utilization, cash transactions, cash transactions at liquor sales stores and other issues.
According to information provided by former Rajya Sabha member and former YSRCP leader VVV Vijaya Sai Reddy during the inquiry, SIT officials are said to have roasted Mr Midhun Reddy.
Later, when speaking in the media, Mr. Midhun Reddy called it a false case, with only political harassment.
“Apart from drugs and human trafficking, all cases (such as illegal mining and beach smuggling) balanced me. There was no evidence of one case. I will face a liquor case,” said Mr Midhun Reddy.
He reiterated: “I can’t talk about the Wine Scam because the case is in court. I’m not panicked about the false case.”
“Vijaya Sai will be revealed”
In related developments, in the video clip he allegedly released, another suspect in The Wine Scam said he was legally fighting the case. “I have sought legal protection from the court. I will reveal the history of Mr. Vijaya Sai Reddy, who has filed several charges against me.”
