Six arrested for betting in IPL matches in Andhra Pradesh

Nandyal area police arrested six people for allegedly participating in online betting for the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) match. Police seized Rs 41.1 lakh in cash and seven cell phones from the arrested person.
According to police, Koilkuntla police raided some people to raid the Gujarat Giant and Delhi Capital Competition that some people participated on Saturday.
A police team composed of Koilkuntla Circle inspector P. Hanumantha Naik conducted the raid and arrested six people in an open area next to Bhargav Lodge and on the road leading to Gandhi Nagar in the town.
Police seized major organizers Vadde Rafi and five other Obulapu Raja Reddy, Male Suresh Babu, Surasura Vinod Kumar, Jattangi Sunil Raju and Chakali Maddileti, who are all residents of various areas of Koilkuntla Town.
The six people have been registered under the organized crime section of the newly introduced BNS Act and Game Act.
“Investigation shows that the defendant is transferring funds through a mobile app. The letter is being sent to the bank to grab its account and track accounts that use the cricket betting app to transfer funds.”
Police Chief Adhiraj Singh Rana praised Koilkuntla police for their successful operations.
