In the Rangareddy area, ACB officials arrested Sudharshanam Raghu, deputy executive engineer of the Nagaram municipality, and accepted a bribe of Rs 1 lakh. The trap was placed at 4.50 pm on Monday, when Mr Raghu asked to provide Rs 1.3 lakh to the complainant to clear the bills related to the CC road work worth Rs 1.1 lakh. The bribe was routed through two outsourcing job inspectors V. Rakesh and V. Suresh. All three – Rag, Laksh and Suresh were arrested and will be produced before the first special judge in the ACB case in Hyderabad.

Meanwhile, in Chilpur Mandal, Jangaon, income inspector Vineet Kumar was arrested for Rs 26,000 to submit a favorable field verification report in a land mutation case. Bribery was hidden in the rear seat of his car and the chemical traces were tested during the trap operation.

ACB detectives captured a TV News Channel reporter and identified as Mittapalli Gopi, who allegedly received a bribe of Rs 10,000 in the “instance” of Manuguru Circle S. Satish Kumar, located in the town of Manuguru in the Bhadradri Kothagudem district.

According to ACB sources, Mr GOPI served as an intermediary on behalf of Mr Satish Kumar in his case and determined the transaction with the complainant to present formal support.

Following the instructions of Mr. Satish Kumar, Mr. Gopi requested a bribe of Rs 4 lakh and accepted part of the complainant as his name was not included in the cases of Articles 318(4), 329(4), 329(3), which did not include his name, Bharatiya nyaya nyaya nyaya sanhita(bns) and Section 5 (Telana and Telana and telangana and pam) at the Manuguru Police Station.

ACB sources said the two defendants have been detained and will be produced in the ACB special court in Warangal.

This is the second ACB trap case in the area in less than two weeks.

On April 10, ACB “trapped” Inspector Bhadrachalam, B. Ramesh, Police Department Ch. Rama Rao and a private person in a “bribery” case.

All four were produced before the special anti-corruption court – Sharma of Hyderabad and others in Valangar. ACB confirms that an investigation is underway.

The agency has called on the public to report bribery requests by calling 1064 or via WhatsApp (9444446106), Facebook (Telangana ACB) or X (@TelanganaAcb). Officials assured that the complainant’s identity will be kept strictly confidential.
