Six people, including four minors, died in a road accident in Haverley area

Six people, including three underage girls and a minor boy, were killed on the spot, and the two hit a truck on Thursday (May 8, 2025) on the Pune-Bengaluru National Highway near Motebennur in Haveri District and overturned the two on the Pune-Bengaluru National Highway near the Bangladesh National Highway.

Of the eight people traveling in the SUV, six were killed on the spot and two girls were injured. After initial treatment was provided at Haveri Regional Hospital, the two were taken to KMCRI Hospital in Hubballi for further treatment. It is said that a person’s condition is very serious.

The deceased, the chief of the police in Haveri, Anshukumar, were named Syed Farhan Syed Inamulla (20) and Ummera Syed Inamulla (11) of Harihar, Ranebennur and Ashiya Khalandar (12). Syed Farhan is driving.

The injured were Mehak Rasheed Narangi of Goa (18) and Umitasqeen Afroz Udagatti of Ranebennur (11).

Mr Anshukumar told the press that families from Ranebennur, Harihar and Goa planned a trip and started to Hubballi from Ranebennur. When the deceased traveled in an SUV, others traveled by bus, which was earlier. The accident occurred when the speeding SUV lost control and hit the truck from behind and overturned the truck. Byadgi police have registered the case.
