Modi chooses code to operate sindoor, hail precise strike

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the Indian armed forces for their successful execution of the strike and reiterated his government's zero tolerance for terrorism.
Modi presided over the union cabinet meeting just hours after Sindor's action. During the meeting, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh introduced the operation to the cabinet, which welcomed the action and praised Modi's leadership with a heavy blow from the table.
Sources said the logo of Sindoor Operation was designed in just 45 minutes, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself proposing the code name, which was intended to avenge people who brutally killed civilians, some of whom were couples celebrating their wedding.
The government also held a party-wide meeting on Thursday to brief leaders on Operation Sindor carried out by the armed forces.
“The government has held a meeting of all party leaders at the committee room held at the New Delhi Parliament Building at 11:00 am on May 8, 2025,” said the Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Kiren Rijiju in an article on X.
Sources said the prime minister postponed his planned visit to three European countries in Croatia, Norway and the Netherlands next week due to current political and military tensions with Pakistan.
Modi was scheduled to visit these countries from May 13 to 17, but his continued presence in the country was considered essential given the smooth flow after the strike. The three countries have been told to postpone, and visits can be rescheduled once the situation stabilizes in the coming weeks.
