So far, 1,500 licenses have been issued for operating mini buses: Minister

Tamil Nadu Transport Minister SIVASANKARS on Monday has issued more than 1,500 permits to private participants to operate minibuses in the state. The minibus service is expected to be launched next month.
The minister is responding to concerns raised by Deputy Speaker K. Pitchandi, who said the wheel bases prescribed for minibus are unavailable. He cited the challenges of obtaining a specific wheel base, and he said new buses without a specific pedestal.
Mr Pitchandi said that private players can operate mini buses only if the wheel bases specified for mini buses are added. In response, Mr Sivasankar said there would be problems between the mini bus and the bus if the wheel base was increased.
The Minister also mentioned the opinions of players operating bus services on routes reserved for minibus. “This action is just to avoid administrative problems,” he said. Many incentives are to provide players with areas in areas such as nearby government hospitals, educational institutions, and more.
The term “Tamil Nadu” was lost in the small bus, and the query raised by Panruti Mla T. Velmurugan is missing the term “Tamil Nadu”.
