Newborn’s death sparks anger, relatives near the expressway protest

Warangal: The death of the newborn in a government hospital caused anger as the family held a sit-in protest on a road in neighboring countries, demanding responsibility and justice for the baby’s losses.

The baby was born to Ravali, the wife of local resident Bill Chandu, and was born on Friday morning by a caesarean section. Hospital principal Dr. P. Jagadish told Deccan Chronicle that the boy was initially stable but had complications that prompted staff to be under the supervision of the health department – an ambulance transferred him to MGM Hospital. The child died on the way. “This is a rare, inevitable case,” Dr. Jagadish said, adding that the entire family accepted medical explanation and withdrew without complaints.

Despite this, relatives insisted on blaming the hospital for negligence and taking the baby’s body to the highway, exactly as the visit of Governors Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy and Seetakka, who were on the way to the income meeting held in Venkatapur Mandal. Protesters showed their children’s bodies to draw attention to their complaints.

Minister Sitakka, who witnessed the demonstration, promised to conduct an investigation and promised to “take action against anyone deemed responsible.” The family still camped on the highway and refused to clear the road until they were formally guaranteed justice.
