Special CCS team investigates corruption allegations in HGA

Hyderabad: A special team was formed at the Central Crime Station (CCS) to investigate allegations of corruption and financial irregularities against employees of the Hyderabad Golf Association (HGA) office.
After a detailed complaint with Golconda police on April 16, longtime HGA member Srinath Reddy Kottam investigated the investigation, accusing HGA office holders, including the president, secretary, captain and committee members, who have been addicted to corruption since 2016.
The allegations include membership manipulation, financial fraud in high-value contracts and serious violations of GST regulations.
“The particularly worrying incident involved a contract of Rs 1.75 crore granted without due process, of which Rs 5 million were paid in advance to non-existent suppliers using a false business address,” Srinath Reddy said.
The complaint also highlighted structural failures within the newly developed driving range, which collapsed 16 rods due to engineering failure, resulting in losses of more than Rs 13 crore and could be life-threatening.
Other serious allegations include tendering procedures for golf course development, overpriced contracts, totaling Rs 258 crore, intentional damage to key documents and the implementation of illegal rules without proper registration with the district registrant.
The case was originally registered with the Golconda Police Department. However, it has transferred it to the CCS for a thorough investigation with additional CP (crime) P Vishwa Prasad.
The case was re-registered on April 25 under Sections 316(5), 318(4), 336(3), 340(2), 61(2), 2), 238, 241, R/W 3(5).
CCS ACP Y Harish Kumar said: “This case was registered on the allegations of the complainant who was a former committee member of the HGA. We are collecting evidence and verifying the allegations.”
